Corona Virus (Covid-19) Update
Santa Claus UMC Response
Church leadership is continuing to monitor the developments related to the COVID-19 virus. Governor Eric Holcomb has issued an executive “Stay at Home” order for the entire State of Indiana. This is a continued effort to slow the spread of the virus so that our dedicated health care workers and facilities are not overwhelmed as they provide emergency and ongoing care.
With exceptions as outlined below, all individuals currently living in the State of Indiana are ordered to stay at home or their place of residence, except as allowed in the Executive Order.
e. Religious Entities
Religious facilities, entities and groups, and religious gatherings, provided they adhere to the CDC’s guidance on social gatherings.
We understand this executive order to direct any non-essential business and gatherings to cease. People are to stay at home.
With this understanding, we will limit the activity of Santa Claus UMC to our two areas of an essential nature to our community. We will continue to provide an online worship experience each Sunday at 9am with a group of less than ten (10) people who adhere to safe distance church and our community.
Pastor Clayton will begin working primarily to prepare and present our Sunday Morning online worship experience. He will be in the office Wednesday and Sunday morning for this specific purpose.
Heather Siboni will be in the front office Mondays from 7 to 3 and Wednesdays 9 to 5 to keep communication and organization going for the church.
Pastor Tim will be in his office Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 to 4 and Sunday mornings to be available for any needs that arise within the church or community.
We continue to be blessed with a technology team that has us well prepared to facilitate many of our activities and communications via online gatherings. In addition, we have added three new “Ministry Care” teams this week.
Purpose of the Contact Team:
To connect with every person in the church to get their permission to add them to a “One Call” type of phone contact system and to just see how they are doing right now.
Helping Hand Team
Team Leaders: Need a volunteer
Purpose of the Helping Hand Team:
The purpose of the helping hand team is to have a group of people who will respond to needs as they come to us through the contact team.
Covid-19 Response Team
Purpose of the Covid-19 Response Team
The purpose of the Covid-19 Response Team is to respond to anyone who is diagnosed with the Covid-19 Virus.
If you are interested in helping by volunteering to serve on any of these teams please let the team leader or the church office know.
We will continue to monitor and update you as this very fluid situation develops.
Once again, we are sure of our Faith, Hope, and Trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God continue to show us new ways to be His people in an uncertain and hurting world.
God is good all the time and all the time, God is good.
